How do I get started?
What's an impression?
Impressions are a metric used to measure the reach of an advertisement. In it's simplest form, an impression is the number of times an ad is seen. However, Adlily has several systems in place to ensure that our impressions are accurate, meaningful and valuable to advertisers.
An impression is counted under the following conditions:
-
The visitor is in front of the poster and not to the side, above, or below such that the poster would be unreadable.
-
The visitor is looking in the direction of the poster.
-
The visitor is close enough to the poster to actually read and comprehend the content. This distance scales proportionally to the size of the poster.
-
The visitor is able to see the ad and no walls or other obstacles obscure vision of the poster. This includes other visitors and GUI items like the visitor menu.
-
The impression is sustained for 1 full continuous second. The visitor must be viewing the ad for long enough to fully comprehend the content of the poster and not just running past or briefly seeing a flash of the ad in a doorway or the corner of their screen.
-
The visitor has not already registered an impression for that ad in the current instance.
How long does it take for my campaign to be approved and begin running?
We typically approve and start displaying campaign advertisements in less than 24 hours. Campaigns may take longer to be active if they are rejected and require additional input on the advertiser's end to be approved.
What data do you collect?
We collect and retain data related to joining and leaving instances, interaction with posters, and demographic data such as location, device and platform. We do not collect any personally identifiable information like your username, or IP address.
See our Data & Privacy Guidelines for more details.

What is your pricing/pay model
Our current pricing is based on a CPM (cost per mille) model. This means that we pay publishers based on the number of impressions their worlds generate.
We've designed our pricing model to be fair and sustainable for both publishers and advertisers, additionally, we're still in the process of finalizing our pricing, but we're aiming to pay publishers a fair rate that's competitive with other monetization options.
How much do you charge advertisers?
We charge between $0.75 and $1.25 per thousand impressions depending on desired campaign poster resolution quality. Advertisers set a weekly budget and can pause or cancel their campaigns at any time.
Comprehensive analytics are provided at no additional charge for any active or previously active campaigns.
This is only reflective of our current pricing model during launch. Rates and structure are highly subject to change in the future.
How much do you pay publishers?
At the moment we pay 50 cents per thousand impressions.
World and poster analytics are provided at no additional charge for any world that has at least one active poster.
This is only reflective of our current payment model during launch. Payment rates and structure are highly subject to change in the future.
We may also decide to make impression pay proportional to advertisement value in the future as we feel this would promote further transparency and fairness in our payment model. If we make more money per impression on a campaign, publishers should too.

Why?
I don't like ads, why are you forcing them on me?
We get it—ads can be a pain. Who hasn't been on a website jam-packed with annoying ads or wasted time looking for the real download button? We hated that too. We do not and will not ever allow any form of intrusive or deceptive advertising.
Adlily's advertisers and publishers are required to follow strict guidelines to ensure that our ads are in compliance with our policies. All ads are reviewed by our team before being approved for display. Please see our Advertiser Guidelines and Publisher Guidelines for specific details on what we enforce.
We believe we have a positive influence on the VR ecosystem. All advertising on our platform is dedicated towards growing communities, spotlighting worlds, avatars, content creators, and events. In fact, in many ways we build and foster the community and culture of the ecosystem. Our ads connect worlds together and allow events and content creators to find their audiences.
One of our core philosophies is that advertising should be ethical, transparent, and respectful. We recognize the pitfalls of traditional advertising, which is why we make such a significant effort to advertise ethically. We believe monetization is a necessary part of the ecosystem. It's better to have a system that's fair and ethical than to have no system or one that's inherently predatory and harmful.
We wrote a mission statement about our mission and values that goes into more detail about our philosophy. We encourage you to read it.
